Audio Systems: Radio stereo removal 1999 toyota camry, toyota camry, audio amp

Question
Hello Tom
My problem started after I shampooed the interior of the camry. I am wondering if the moisture fried the electronic componets of this radio. I live in the desert, so any moisture build up would dry up very fast. I replaced the fuses with new ones. I think now I am at the point of having to remove the radio. How do you start removing this radio?

Thank you
Jim, 1999 Toyota Camry LE

Answer
James,
The trim around the stereo will need to be removed to gain access to the screws that hold the stereo into the dash. On some model vehicles the audio amp is under one of the front seats and if you got the amp wet that may be the cause of the problem.
