Audio Systems: Ford F150 OEM 6-CD Disc Changer, memory wire, station memory

Question
When the engine is shut off, the display will turn off, then turn back on again, with the clock reset and the cd changer re-loading the cds. This will happen every few minutes or until the engine is started again.  The connections in the back seem fine. Usually, when a radio is turned off, it remembers the last station or cd the was playing; this radio will always go back to the first preset after the radio turns off.
When we pulled out the original radio (basic am/fm radio only), there were only two wires total, although there are three slots on the new radio.  Thanks!

Mr. Clark,
I just recently purchased a pre-owned 6-disc cd changer for my 2003 F350 SuperDuty. It seemed to work fine once I installed it. Moments later, it reset itself, like it was disconnecting from the battery.  It plays fine when the engine is running but once the engine is turned off, it resets itself every so many minutes. I would appreciate any suggestions you have. Thank you!
Answer -
Jamie,
Give me a little more details on how the CD changer is resetting as you describe.

Answer
Jamie,
It's possible that the new stereo isn't compatible with the vehicle wiring, or the new stereo may be defective. With the stereo going back to the first station as you mentioned the problem may be that the memory wire isn't connected correctly in the wiring harness so the stereo will hold station memory.
