Audio Systems: 91 Chrysler Acclaim Radio Removal, factory radio, model vehicle

My husband is working on removing the factory radio of a '91 chrysler acclaim. he got the faceplate off, but the wires won't come out of the back, please help.

some units are 'hard wired', meaning the connector does not come out of the back. there might be a 'release tab' at the top or bottom of connector that you have to press in order to release it. the best advise i can give is to go to crutchfield.com and look up your make and model vehicle and see just what's required. you might have to get a wiring adaptor from them to make the job so much easier. good hunting, hope i gave some assistance..........g.........
