Audio Systems: CD Changer in 2003 Ford Escape, failure rate, load button

I have a 2003 Ford Escape which holds 6 CD/s.  A Cd was put in and it quit working.  When you push the button to change from Radio to CD it says "No CD".  When you push the "load" button it says CD error.  Could someone possibly have put an extra cd in which causes it to jam up?

It's possible that someone may have jammed an extra CD into the player, however these 6 disc changer stereos do have a high failure rate of the changer mechanics. You may want to have a service shop take a look at the stereo.
