Audio Systems: stereo install 2000 cavalier, factory stereo, alarm functions

hi there i want to install my aftermarket deck into a 2000 cavalier, but i dont want to relocate the original to the trunk. can you tell me what functions i will loose or what will happen if i just remove the original completely.

On some models of factory stereos they will use circuits inside the stereo for the key chime and alarm functions. If you visit a good car stereo install shop they should have adapters that will plug onto the factory stereo connector that will allow to to remove the factory stereo and install an after market stereo.
