Audio Systems: Buick-delco radio/cassette, delco radio, pin ribbon

Question
I removed the radio to release a stuck tape. The gears in that mechanism are shot. I put back the radio and now its dead. Fuses are OK I think. Momentarily I had Some sound from speakers but no reaction to volume or channel buttons.  That stopped and now nothing. Connections are with a 24 pin and 12 pin ribbon wire connectors so they can't be installed incorrectly. Is there a fuse or fuse link inside the radio?  what do you think?--Trey

Answer
Trey,
You may want to pull out the stereo again and make sure all the internal connectors are seated all the way. After you do this and reinstall the stereo you may want to take off one battery terminal for a few minutes and then reconnect it to see if this will reset the stereo. If this doesn't help you will need to have the stereo looked over by an experienced repair shop.
