Audio Systems: CD CHANGER, photo transistor, disc factory

Question
I was wondering if you can help with my 2001 Ford Expedition. The 6 disc factory changer is full of cd's but when the radio scans through all of them, it flashes "no disc".
Any idea on what the problem may be and how a somewhat slef described fix it yourself guy may by able to fix it?
Thank you for your time,
Steve

Answer
Steve,
The problem may be with the sensor that tells the control processor which trays have CDs in them. When you first insert a magazine the CD player will scan search through all the trays to see how many CDs are in the magazine. When a CD is pulled out of the magazine into the play position a led/photo transistor sensor will be turned on or off when a CD blocks the light from the LED. A volt meter on the sensor should tell you if it is operating or not.
