Audio Systems: 98 VW Beetle Radio, vw beetle, preset button

Tom,
I have a 98 VW Beetle and one of the preset buttons won't push anymore.  I know this seems trivial...but I need this button because it controls my new phatnoise mp3 player.  I hate to take it to the dealer because they always charge an arm and a leg to fix even the most minor thing. Do you have any suggestions about how to unstick this preset button....or make it work again?  THanks

You have to first determine if the button top is pressed all the way in against the switch, or if the button top is stuck due to something being spilled onto it. Coffee and soda when spilled into the switch assemblies can jam them up like glue. You may have to pull the stereo out of the dash and take off the front assembly to inspect the control board and switches.
