Audio Systems: CD Player magazine stuck, jug of water, gallon jug

Tom: The other day while driving I went to change the cd disc on the stereo of my 6 cd player (in trunk) and my stereo read 'CD Error'. I opened my trunk and apparently a gallon jug of water had bumped up against it and had been there for most of the day. (I assumed this was what caused it) I tried to eject the 'magazine' from the player, but although I could hear the eject system running, it would not come out. My stereo now reads 'No Magazine'. Is this easily repaired? Can I open something myself? Your help is appreciated. The car is a 98 BMW 328i with a BMW business radio.

It's possible that when the water jug hit the changer it caused a CD to come out of one of the trays and it is jammed in the changer mechanics. A good inspection of the mechanics may show you that a CD is jammed in the unit.
