Audio Systems: 95 avalon CD changer, toyota avalon, laser assembly

Hi,
  I just bought a 95 TOYOTA Avalon equpped with 3 cd changer. However it seems like CD does not work due to the error message-"E-02" on the LCD of CD player. Is it possible to fix it or is it difficult to take the CD module out? The radio and tape works.

The error message may be coming up due to a dirty lens in the laser pickup or because the laser is weak or defective. You can try doing a manual cleaning of the laser lens first to see if this helps, if not the laser assembly will need to be replaced.
