Audio Systems: Ford 6 Disc Stereo cd problem, disc factory, laser pickup

I just purchased a used 6 disc factory stereo and the cd function doesn't work. It appears that there is 6 disks in it now but everytime i try to operate it i either get no "cd", or message "initializing" then goes to radio function.All other functions are fine just cd problem.

If the CD player has 6 CDs in it and the unit goes through the initializing mode and NO CD error message comes up, the problem may be due to a dirty lens in the laser pickup or the pickup is defective. You may want to have a service shop take a look at the unit.
