I have a 97 Sebring convertible with cassette and CD.  As of yesterday the on/off button, equalizer buttons and volume control all work but I can't switch modes between AM, FM, CD and cassette.  The buttons just  don't work.  There are also a CD and cassette which won't reject. The car has 141K so I can't spend much on it.  I'd like to fix this myself if possible.  Thanks in advance for suggestions.

Jim,
To even begin to troubleshoot the problem you will need the service manual for the stereo. The service manual alone will cost about $50. The problem sounds like it may be due to a power distribution fault inside the stereo. If you give me the complete model number of the stereo I will look over the service info for some clues to where the problem may be located.
