Audio Systems: car radio, golf v5, car audio shop

hi alan i drive a golf v5 but have had problems with my in car cd / radio since yesterday. it wont work or bring anything up, no sound, on the display except mute or bass off. my wife said it wasnt knocked have u any ideas why its like this. thanks

Unfortunately I'm not sure what's wrong with your CD player. It's possible that it's just really old, and it was going to start malfunctioning anyway. But given the nature of the problem, and the fact that it wasn't hit at all, leads me to believe that it was just a dud piece. You're going to have to go back to your dealership or local car audio shop and have them take a look. Sorry I couldn't be of more use. When something goes wrong with a head unit, especially like yours, there isn't much that we can do.
