Audio Systems: Panasonic car Radio, speaker impedance, 4 ohms

The radio was made in 2003 it is a am/fm cd player the problem is it keeps shutting off every ten minutes on the button.  When I take the faceplate off and put it back on it will work again for only 10 minutes.  What would be causing the problem?

Most likely the problem is due to the speaker wires being connected incorrectly. Double check the wiring to be sure that none of the speaker wires are grounded or cross connected. Make sure that the speaker impedance is where the stereo requires. (4 ohms or 8 ohms)
