Audio Systems: CD player not working, cd player, sony

Question
A CD recently got stuck in my 1-year old SONY 1-Disk player. It would not play or eject. Finally, after holding the eject button down and wiggling the unit, enough of the disk was poking out that I could pinch it and pull it out. Now, if I put in a CD in, it makes a "whirring" noise for a couple of seconds and ejects the disk about half the normal distance as it did when functioning. Did I damage something by pulling the disk out?

Answer
Sean,
When you pulled on the CD you may have bent the springs that hold the rubber loading roller. When you insert a CD and you can hear the load motor running, the assembly that is suppose to grab onto the disc is not doing as it should.
