Audio Systems: radio removal, penny nails, ford taurus

Question
Tom,
Trying to remove a factory radio in a 1992 Ford Taurus. Someone got into the car and pulled half the faceplate off before I knew it so I want to replace the radio..five kids and a limited budget..figured if a crack head can take one out how hard can it be? Guess the crackheads are smarter than I ..cannot figure what is holding the darn thing in!!
HELP!!!
Thank you for your time!
Marcy

Answer
Marcy,
If this stereo has two small 1/8" holes on each side, all you will need to do is to insert four 16 penny nails/spikes into the holes. With the nails in the holes put a little side ways pressure towards the outside of the stereo while pulling out on the stereo. If this stereo does not have the holes in it, let me know.
