Audio Systems: 1995 mustang cd install, ford mustang v6, auto recycler

Question
Hi Tom;
I found this site by fluke,I hope that you can help me.I own a canadian 1995 ford mustang V6 with a factory AM/FM/cassette player.My problem is that my wife would love to have a cd player installed. But at the same time maintain the factory interior due to the fact that the car is in show room condition.First thing, is it just the matter of buying a 1995 ford factory cd player and installing it because these cars had a seperate cd player and radio.Where the cd player normally would go there is a eye glass comparment that I have removed and it looks to me like the tracks to slide it in are already there.Or does the 2 seperate units have to match? Second thing is as far as the plug in for the cd player is there a factory plug already there to accept the unit.I have a line on a cd player from a auto recycler but do not want to venture down this uncertain road without some knowledge.I contact Ford Canada but they where no help and didn't put any effort to my questions at all.Any help that you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Answer
Tony,
If the existing factory stereo in your vehicle is a CD controller stereo you can simply plug into the rear of the stereo a Ford remote changer that you can install under one of the seats or in the trunk area of the vehicle. If the stereo isn't a CD controller stereo don't worry. You can install a CD changer made by JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer or several other manufacturers. I install CD changers in many vehicles that the owners want to keep the original stereo intact. You can install an RF type CD changer that will send the CD audio into the existing factory stereo by connecting to the antenna wire/cable behind the factory stereo. These after market CD changers will have a small wired remote control and when you want to listen to CDs you will tune your FM stereo to the station that the instructions tell you to. I have installed many of these types of changers with no complaints.
