Audio Systems: FM/AM RECEPTION ARE VERY BAD, continuity tester, stereo unit

I RECENTLY UPGRADED MY STEREO UNIT FROM A FACTORY UNIT TO A JVC UNIT. I NOTICED THAT THE FM/AM RECEPTIONS ARE VERY BAD WITH MY JVC UNIT. HOW CAN I GO ABOUT FIXING THIS PROBLEM

You may want to use a continuity tester and check the antenna. If your vehicle has an in glass antenna, some will use a booster circuit that is powered up when the factory stereo is turned on. Please give me some more details about make and model of the vehicle and the model number of the stereo.
