Audio Systems: No sound from my subwoofer, rockford fosgate amp, stereo head unit

Question
I hooked up a 900watt Rockford Fosgate amp with a 10" Rockford sub.  It worked fine for about 10 minutes and while I was listening, the sound went out on it.  No pops or crackles, just silence. There is power to the amp and everything seems to be connected right.  I tried hooking up a different amp to see if mine was blown, and had the same problem.  No Sound!  Could it be something to do with the RCA plugs on my CD player not working?  The CD Player is a pretty cheap Pioneer.

Answer
Pete,
make sure that you do have 12 volts on both the main power supply line and the remote on lead when the stereo head unit is on. On some stereos with an external amp if the ground connection comes loose at the amp, the ground for the amp will come from the stereo head unit on the RCA lines and this can burn up the ground connections in the stereo for the RCA output lines.
