Audio Systems: bose sound problem, kenwood cd player, nissan maxima

Question
I have a 93 nissan maxima with the factory bose am/fm/cd/tape player..... two problems... first; turn on stereo all lights up, no sound.... after about 2-3 minutes sound comes from left rear speaker only, right rear has a slight sqeal, even if the volume is all the way down, when the sound comes on, the stereo(ST) lights up above the station... internal problem? and with the second issue.... why does only one speaker work?  I have already checked power and ground on all 4 amps(O.K.)and with an "airbag safe" test light I checked to see if there was a signal for sound....(there is)  same signal for all 4 speakers...  could 3 of the 4 amps be bad?  I also tried to install a Kenwood cd player with a store bought factory harness for quick hookup.... same issue, only left rear speaker had sound(all wiring looks good)where do I go next?

Answer
Ken,
A common problem with the amp modules for the Bose system amps is that the capacitors on the amp boards will become leaky and fail. You could rebuild/refurbish the amps yourself by replacing all the capacitors on the amp boards or you could simply purchase new replacement amp boards for each speaker box. As for the stereo lamp the problem may be internal to the stereo, or an antenna fault?.
