Audio Systems: mounting a cd changer in 2001 taurus, ford taurus, level surface

I just bought a CD changer for a 2001 Ford Taurus. Where is the best place in the trunk to mount the CD changer so that I don't damage anything when I'm drilling the holes for the screws?

If the trunk has an over hang below the rear window this is where you would mount the CD changer. Don't drill through the floor or may drill into the fuel tank. If mounting the changer on the over hang/shelf you may need to put up a small piece of plywood to make a flat level surface to screw the CD changer brackets onto.
