Question
I apologize.  I was not clear.  I am fine with the factory amp, and have no intention to replace it.  What I want to do is replace the factory crossover to the front speakers.  I just don't know if the crossover is built into the AMP or if it is a seperate component under the dash or something.  The amp is located in the trunk on the passenger side of the inner fender.  Therer is no crossover in the door that I can find. thanks.

Question -
I blew the left front mid-bass coupler (6.5" door speaker) and would like to do replacement.  All of the component sets that I have found come with their own crossover that matches their particular characteristics.  As I will be doing the mid-bass, I am assuming that I will need to do the tweeters also .  Where is the crossover for the front 4 speakers?  Is it in the door or under the dash somewhere, or is it built into the Infinity amp?  I would like to remove the factory one and replace it with the one that comes with the component set up.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Casey,
Replacing the factory amp with an after market amp will require that you do some inventive wiring to match the new amp the factory stereo. If you pull one of the door speakers out of the door you may find the cross over located with the speaker. Some testing of the left front speaker itself will confirm that the speaker or the cross over capacitor is defective.

Answer
casey,
The cross over parts are mounted on the amp board in the trunk. If you could bypass the cross overs in the amp to make the output wide spectrum you could install speakers up front with cross over units on the speakers to suit your sound preferences.
