Audio Systems: XM Radio Tapedeck Problems, radio unit, music tape

Question
I have a 94 Ford Explorer and a brand new XM Radio car kit; the XM Radio is hooked up to the car's stereo system via tapedeck adapter.  When I first got the XM radio two weeks ago, it worked in the car beautifully.  Then one day, the tapedeck tried to flip the tape over, as if one side of the tape had run out.  Now, every few seconds the tape player tries to flip the tape over (but it can't because the adapter only moves in one direction) and after trying this a few times, it spits the tape adapter out and the display says "ERROR."  What's really interesting is that as long as the tape adapter isn't plugged into the XM radio, the tapedeck has no problem "playing" the tape adapter, but as soon as I plug it into the XM radio unit, it acts up again.  Any ideas/suggestions?

Answer
Steve,
If you put in a music tape into the tape deck will it play OK? If your stereo has a music search button it make sure that it is turned off. A problem like this has a simple solution, however I can't give you an answer on this without actually seeing the unit myself.
