Audio Systems: Dodge infinity stereo replacement, grand caravan sport, dodge grand caravan sport

Question
I have just replaced the head unit in my 1999 dodge grand caravan sport with a nice JVC 180W system. It has the infinity 6 speaker set up. I had to connect the amp/remote power lead to get any sound.
Now, when I turn up the volume to a certain point, the sound cuts off and comes back every 2 seconds or so.
My guess is that the high power of the new head unit is too much input for the factory amps.
Do I need to remove the amps? If so, are there more than the ones on the door and rear speakers? Also, how do you remove the amps?
Thanks!!!!
HB

Answer
Hugh,
All you need to install between the head unit and the speaker amps is a high level(speaker) to low level adapter. This adapter will lower the output level to a level low enough so the speaker amps won't be over loaded.
