Audio Systems: Replacement of Delco Radio, delco wire, delco radio

Question
I am attempting to replace a cooked Delco radio/cassette unit (Model 16129904) in a '91 LaSabre.  I'm putting in a "cheapy" replacement radio/CD (the replacement just has labled stripped end wires) with an adaptor kit - which worked well on my old '86 Blazer.  However, unlike the helpful pin legend embossed in the metal on the '86 radio case, I'm just left with black, white, and blue plugs - and no legend - when I pull the '91 unit.  I assume the white and blue plugs are for the front and back speakers and I can figure out those connections with a multimeter, but I would like to know what's going on with the power leads on the six-pin black plug before I start cutting and connecting.  Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ed

Answer
Ed,
You may want to make it easy on yourself by stopping by your local auto parts store and purchasing the GM/Delco wire harness adapter for your year vehicle. All the wires on these adapters are marked for what they are used for. If you don't want to purchase the adapter connector you might want to take a look at   streetdreams.com   You will find the wire colors there.
