Audio Systems: Installing aftermarket stereo in 1994 Toyota Landcruuiser, factory stereo, stereo unit

Wanting to know about how to get stereo unit in dash. Must I take off dash or slide in unit? What precautions do I take in dealing with the with the anti-theft system.

If the factory stereo is removed you should see one or two connectors in the dash that were plugged into the factory stereo. The easy way to install an after market stereo is to purchase the adapter/s that plug onto the factory connectors. With these adapters connected all you will need to do is to connect the wires to the new stereo according to the labels on the wires. You shouldn't have any problems with the anti-theft system unless the factory stereo was/is connected to the alarm system. To install the new stereo you may have to remove the panel that held the factory stereo so that you can install the sleeve for the new stereo into it.
