My son drop a coin in my car cd player and now it stays on even if the key is turned off. I tried just hooking up the power wire by itself and the display and memory still works. I would imagine that something like a diode might have shorted out.How would I test for that. Thanks for any help.

Answer
Dennis,
I checked my service manuals and I don't have a manual for your model kenwood stereo. If the stereo still works with the key off, the problem may be due to a shorted power control transistor. By using an ohm meter you should be able to trace down the shorted transistor.
