Audio Systems: speaker capacitor, ohm meter, capacitor

I have a pair of 6x9 Sony X-plode speakers. The tweeter in one of them quit working. Would the capacitor blow or go bad before the tweeter would blow? I've tried to test the capacitor for continuity and got nothing.I'm not sure if you even can test it that way. Thanks for any help figuring this out.

Use the ohm meter and test the tweeter for continuity. You can test the capacitor with the ohm meter, when you put the ohm meter across the capacitor leads the meter should slowly drop as the cap charges.
