My friend owned a 1988 Dodge Ram Charger which he had an aftermarket JVC cd player installed.  He had it done by a local store, and it worked normally.  He sold the truck and kept the deck. He's selling the deck to me and volunteered to install it in my car.  My car is a 1999 Dodge Stratus so its the right harness and everything. We had it plugged in with no problems until we turned it on.  We turned it on and the sound is horrible. there's only high end frequencies and no bass what so-ever. and the speakers in the doors aren't working either.  we did a simple ground and it didn't help at all in any way. the sound stayed exaclty the same.  ANY help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Answer -
Dan,
Please give me the model number of the JVC stereo, I will look up the wiring info for clues to the problem.

Answer
Dan,
It's possible that the speakers in the Dodge Stratus may only be stock speakers. The speakers in the Dodge Ram may have been three way speakers that always sound much better than stock units. Double check the wiring and make sure that each speaker wire pair goes directly to each speaker and that NONE of the speaker wires are grounded or the amps in the stereo will be damaged. Check out the speakers in the Dodge Stratus and if they are stock speakers, change them to three way speakers.
