Audio Systems: Cd changer, factory stereo, controller unit

Hello Tom, the Cd changer was on my brother's car (Jetta 2001). The day he was getting rid of the car he just cut the wires and gave it to me. He got the cd changer mounted on his car by Volkswagen. It was a 6 cd changer. Let me know if you have more questions. Thanks for your help Tom.

If the stereo in your vehicle has a CD control jack on it, the VW changer may work if you plug it into the head unit. But this depends if the two units are compatable and can communicate with each other. Your first step is to remove the factory stereo and look to see if it has a CD controller jack on it. Note, if your factory stereo is a CD controller unit you should see on the front panel some of the stanard CD control functions!
