Answer
Dear Lew,

Who am I to question Cleggson?

I've never heard of Superscan, the brand, except with respect to certain computer products and Hitachi plasma televisions.

Two observations. First, in my experience for any given home electronics component, at Sears you will pay as close to the manufacturer's suggested list price than anywhere else. Second, I highly recommend you check out the December 2004 issue of Consumer Reports, which rates a host of TV's. You'll surely find something there that (1) is in your price range, and (2) has been tested for quality. Then I suggest you use the net to shop around for the best price.

For instance, I'm looking at a Sony ED plasma monitor. The list price is $3,500. The price range on the net is $2,300 to $2,700. The price at Sears is $3,400.

You've been warned.

Kindest regards,

Kevin
