Audio Systems: Car Stereo Repair, car stereo repair, car entertainment system

Question
Thanks for the quick reply.  Is it possible to just replace part of the stereo unit that was affected by the water and not the whole unit.  That stereo cost me 86,000 Philippine Pesos or about $1,535 U.S.  It is too expensive to replace not to mention that the unit is just a little over three months old. I just want to make the most out of the existing unit if possible.  I emailed Pioneer and they told me to replace the Main PC unit alone which is about $535(I did not tell them though that it is still under warranty and they have not taken a look at the unit yet) Do you think I can claim this for warranty?  It does have a warranty card that's good for 1 year(expiring July 24,2005).  Thanks and hope to hear from you soon.  God bless you, G :-)

Hi and hope all is well.  I have a PIONEER AVH-P7550DVD car entertainment system that I accidentally spilled water on the head unit.  It lost power and now is not operational anymore.  Can this be repaired? Is it wise to repair? Thanks
Answer -
if someone offers to fix it, be wary. after liquid damage starts, your best bet is replace head unit. corrosion tends to continue long after repairs made, and repeat failure is inevitable. electronics just don't like water. be safe, replace.....G...

Answer
i was suggesting replacing the part that got watered. your warranty unfortunately will not cover any type of liquid damage, the servicer can't claim anything else due to the fact that for anything other than small parts, they have to return components to manufacturer to receive proper credit. wish i could've given you better answer, but dealing with warranty companies has always been difficult.....G.....
