Audio Systems: speakers in a ford escort, factory speakers, replacement speaker

My daughter drives a 1998 Ford Escort sedan and apparently one of the factory speakers is no longer working and we'd like to replace them. What I need to know is the size of the speaker in that type of car. Aside from removing the door panel,we have no other way of finding that out. There doesn't seem to be any information in the car manual.

Do you know whether those speakers are 5 1/4 or 6 inch round speakers.

To be sure that you get the correct speaker, you may want to stop by your local Ford dealer and order a new replacement speaker for your model/year vehicle. before ordering a new speaker you should first find out if in fact the speaker is defective or the output of the stereo is faulty.
