Audio Systems: Television, picture tubes, two strikes

Question
I have a 1992 Zenith 46" television and the color has gone out.  I was wondering if it would be feasible to have it repaired.  Thanks

Answer
since it's that old, it's hard to decide whether the $300-$900 fees you'll see is worth it or not. it could be one or more of the circuit boards or picture tubes involved, any of which is quite expensive. unlike other brands, zenith is well known to be 'easy to service', but that's only because repair consists of replacing expensive complete boards instead of repairing, which would cost the customer less. i work on sets, i 1- wouldn't get a set that old fixed, and 2- i would never own a zenith product. i recommend sony, panasonic, toshiba, ge/rca above all others. i wish i could've been more positive, but you already had two strikes against you; 12 yr.old set, zenith. hope i've been some assisstance, anyhoo.....G....
