Audio Systems: 1998 astro factory radio, clock button, clock circuit

Question
Is the clock light supposed to stay on with the ignition off.mine seems to stay on all the time.it seems that if the vehicle sat for a few days that the battery would go dead.

The clock should go into a sleep mode until you press the display/clock button with the key off to see the time. Most likely the clock circuit has a faulty part that is allowing the clock to be on at all times and run down the battery.
