I bought a car with this cd changer on it already installed, it seems to play the original cd's but in the reviews it seems that it can also play the burned cd's cd-r but for some reason i keep on getting the error 11, that in the manual it says that the cd is upside down... it plays the original ones eventhough it gives me the same error message even with those! what can i do to fix this and hear all my cds? "CDX fm687-pioneer"

The error code is a mechanical error fault, possibly something in the mechanics that load the CD onto the spindle motor. The only sure way to know what the problem is, is to open the unit and let it load a disc and see what happens. The problem may also be due to a very diry laser lens, with a dirty lens the laser won't be able to read the TOC (table of contents) and all the CD's will cycle through the changer and a error code will be set.

DO YOU KNOW A GOOD PLACE TO DO THAT AT? I MEAN I CAN CLEAN IT MYSELF BUT ABOUT THE LASER AND THE MECHANICAL PROBLEM I DONT KNOW.... TORONTO cANADA!

You can try using a Qtip dampened with alcohol and gently rub the laser lens to clean it. This may be the only problem. Cleaning the lens does require that you take the changer apart to gain access to the laser assembly.
