Audio Systems: My cd player cant remember time, station and starting tracks, zoominternet net, plymouth sundance

I replaced a Jvc kd-sx980 into my plymouth sundance. everything works fine except that it can't remember anything. I jointed power lead from car to JVC power wire, ground to JVC ground. turned switch on , cd player lighted up for one second , then shut off. After that, I jointed memory lead from car to the JVC accessory lead, cd player works but no memory funtion. Thank you very much for the help. I have a mute lead, auto antenna leads  and power lead on my car. On cd player I have a remote lead, accessory lead, battery(+), and ground lead. I don't know which wire I should connect to.

make sure that the RED wire is connected to the ignition (switched source) and the YELLOW wire is connected to 12 volts hot at all times.
