I want to install a amp (in trunck) into a '97 Exlorer using the factory head unit.  I wanted to know were was the best place to tap for the power and remote power.  i aslo wanted to where i can get a wire diagram for the radio.  Thanks, dd

Please give me the complete model number off your stereo, you will need to pull the stereo out of the dash to see the model number.

F57F19B165CG  is the model number of the radio.  the goal is to have two 12" 4ohm subwoffers in the truck, and possibly two 6x9 3way speakers.

To install your amp with this factory stereo you will need a high level (speaker) to RCA output (low level) adapter. Any good car stereo store should have these. I will look over my Ford service data on Tuesday afternoon when I return to my shop and let you know about the stereo wiring.
