Audio Systems: left channel fades out, output impedence, pioneer speakers

Question
Hello Tom, i wonder if u can help me out on this problem im having. Ive got a Kenwood high power car stereo with two 25W nominal 4ohms 6½' pioneer speakers. Both channels sound ok when u turn on the car stereo, but after two minutes the left channel just stops working, it keeps playing but on a really low volume, while the right channel keeps working perfectly. I first tried balance, nothing changed, then i tried switching the speakers from front to rear outs, same thing happened, left channel starts ok, then fades out. If u turn it off for a while, then on again, left speaker starts ok, then fades out. I tested both speakers and they seem to be working ok, I just dont know what kind of problem it could be. I dont know what else to try. Im using both right outs, but as stereo system chops some frecuencies, it sounds really bad.

Thanks in advance

Answer
Ignacio,
If you have the owners manual look at the book and see what the required output impedence of the stereo is. If the stereo requires a minimum of 8 ohms and you have connected 4 ohm speakers, this may be the cause of your problem.
