Audio Systems: installing my cd player, pontiac bonneville, factory radio

Question
i have an 89 pontiac bonneville with a broken stereo and a new cd player(Xtreme Sound) from my old car. I want to install the new one but dont know what wires would go where and all and i dont want to start untill i know exactly what im doing.

Answer
Jeff,

ok you should always use a wire harness adapter , as long as the bad unit in the bonneville is a factory unit all you need is an adapter that you can pick up from your local radio shack for around 8 bucks this will wire into your new CD players harness matching color for color then simply plug back into the factory radio plug in the dash .. so there is no guess work on wires .. if there is already and aftermarket unit in the car chances are it might have the adapter so check .. if not you can wire in straight using a color code guide from www.streetdreams.com/wires

thanks
