Audio Systems: Pioneer cd-player install, pioneer cd player, inline fuse

Question
Thanks for your time,

I have installed a cd player in my 1992 Dodge Shadow. The Pioneer has a yellow battery wire, and a red 12V power wire. I hooked the red wire to the cars red/white 12V, and the yellow to the radio fuse panel. It come on great in the radio, accessory, and full on positions. Then i turn it off, and back on, and it looses all settings and presets. I'm assuming the radio fuse in this car isnt a constant 12V. The car has a braided ground strap as well, which is where I connected to for my ground. I also tried the pwr in the radio fuse, and the battery at the red/white pwr in the car, still no go. Help!

Answer
Bill,

it sounds like you didnt use a wire harness adapter which is the way i always recommend doing an install but no need to worry , take a look at www.streetdreams.com/wires they have color codes for OEM wiring this might help you track down the connection , but the simplest fix is to disconnect the current led you have for 12volt constant and just run it directly from the battery and through an inline fuse to your radio unit .. hope this helps you out

thanks
