Audio Systems: Station clarity, chevy blazer, antenna booster

Question
I have a '98 Chevy Blazer with the original stereo/casette...sound is just fine, but I have trouble receiving am stations that are not locally generated.  The reception is so poor....yet if I drive my wife's car the am station that I want comes in very clear.  do I need another radio, or antenna, or what?
Thanks.

Answer
Terry,

before you dive in and buy a new unit .. try some quick fixes first , the most successful is an antenna booster usually around 30 dollars from radio shack you can wire this into your system and it should have clear up and draw in more stations .. if it fails then it is a tuner problem and then you can decide if you want to live with it for awhile or buy a replacement .. hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know

thanks
