In your opinion what is the best brand(s) of aftermarket car stereos. I want to put one in my 01 honda civic coupe. Once i start looking i get so frustrated because they all claim to be the best.  If it's easier maybe you could just tell me which ones to stay away from.

For the money and the options, kenwood is your best bet. Most of the newer Kenwood stereos will be XM or Sirius satellite radio ready. In the future if you want to receive satellite radio programs, all you need to do is to purchase the satellite receiver with a monthly programming charge and plug it into your Kewwood stereo.

Alpine units are decent stereos. There are many good stereos to choose from, JVC, Clarion, Panasonic, Pioneer and Sony have some real nice looking stereos also. just stay away from the off the wall brands.
