Audio Systems: Sony TV Toshiba DVD, sony flatscreen tv, toshiba dvd player

Question
I have a Sony flatscreen TV and a Toshiba DVD player.  Both are fairly new.  I unhooked the DVD player to use in another room and it was working fine.  When I returned the DVD player to the bedroom, I get sound, but no picture.  I'm thinking it has something to do with the yellow, red and white wires.  Any suggestions?

Thanx,
Jill

Answer
Dear Jill,

The red wire is the right channel of the audio; the white wire is the left channel of the audio. The yellow wire is the video. Make sure that you have these properly connected to the same color inputs on your TV. But tell me something: are you connecting the DVD player directly to the TV? Or are you connecting them through an A/V receiver? It's easy to misconnect with a receiver, especially one with multiple inputs. In that case, make sure that all the connections (red, white, and yellow) are through the same "throughput" on the receiver Video 1 and Audio 1 for example.

Let me know how this works out for you.

Kindest regards,

Kevin
