Audio Systems: Installing a new car radio, jumper wire, fuse block

Question
The radio in my '92 Chevy van recently died, and I decided to replace it on my own since I've helped install a radio before and it never seemed hard.  The replacement radio is a Durabrand Am/FM/CD player (WD308).  I bought the Scosche GM01 connectors to bridge the difference between the old components and new.  I wired it all up the way the directions told me to and nothing happens.  Abolsutely no power goes to the radio.  (I checked the trouble shooting sections of the instructions and assure you that the van IS turned on.)  If I attach the ignition wire from the van to the 12 volt constant radio connect, I get power for about 30 seconds.  The radio fuse is still good, and none of the instructions suggest any other problem solvers.  Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Answer
Joleen,

go to your fuse block and pull each fuse out one at a time check EVERY FUSE not just radio related ones, also check for fuses on your harness adapter and the back of your new unit replace if needed .. now if none of this works run a jumper wire directly from your batteries + post to your 12 volt constant connection on your unit .. then turn your ignition to see if unit functions if yes just run the new wire , if no try running another jumper from the + post and wiring it to your 12volt ignition/accessory wire *while leaving your 12v constant connected to the other jumper* make sure unit has ground properly connected before doing this, now if the unit still fails to power up and function its a problem with the unit... hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know

thanks
