Audio Systems: 1995 Ford Explorer JBL amp / sub, ford jbl, fuse panels

Question
I cannot seem to get the Ford / JBL sub woofer or amp to operate in my 1995 Explorer.  It is a stock component and part of the 6 cd system as well.  All parts of this audio system work correctly with the exception of the sub woofer.  I have checked both fuse panels and they  appear to be fine.

Oddly enough, the switch for the electronic mirrors does not work either ( even after replacement).  These two items appear on the same fuse panel in the power disribution box under the hood.

Any idea on how I can test and or repair this item?

Thanks Tim Brown

Answer
Timothy,
Stop by your local Ford dealer and ask if they can give you a print out of the wiring for the sub amp and mirrors. If you have a test lamp and a volt meter, try removing the fuse for the sub amp and with the key turned on check the voltage at terminals to see if you have 12 volts on the supply side. If you do have the 12 volt supply, put the fuse back in and follow the wiring diagram to locate where the 12 volts stops. If the dealer won't give you a print out you may need to purchase a Chiltons book for your Explorer and this book will have all the wiring diagrams in it.
