Audio Systems: jetta keyless entry, vw aftermarket, vw factory

Jerry,
I have a 2001 Volks Jetta.  The battery in the factory laser cut
remote entry key has died and I have no idea how to replace it.  I
see no external screws or anything that will get me in to the key.  
can you give me some advice.

You may want to inquire about this at the VW dealer or a local VW aftermarket shop.  They can be very intuitive with common issues like this one you describe.
