I have a 1993 BMW 512i and the radio just ceased working. No power. I checked the fuse for the radio and it is good. I even replaced the fuse with a new one. Still there is no power to the radio.

Need help

Thanks

Adam,
Your stereo will have two power feeds, one hot at all times and one switched with the key. Use a test lamp to check for both power feeds at the rear of the stereo. I don't have a book for this vehicle so I cannot tell you the wire colors. call your local BMW dealer and ask them for the wire colors or ask if they will print it out for you.

Answer
Adam,
On most BMW's the trim around the stereo will have to be removed to gain access to the screws that hold the stereo into the dash. If you are not sure how to remove the stereo you should contact your local BMW dealer and ask them exactly how to remove the stereo.
