Audio Systems: Volume control, scan lines, model name

Question
Hey,

i bought a new Jensen Cd player (not sure exactly the model name). After couple months, i was not able to reduce the volume, as when i push the button down (towards the reducing volume), it skips to the next song. But i can increase the volume.

I'm guessing its a circuit problem. Is it too expensive to fix?

thanks

Answer
Ranga,
A couple of things may cause this problem,  1-Some corrosion on the board has changed to resistance of the scan lines for the buttons. 2-Some corrosion has one or more of the control switches partually shorted (high resistance) and this is causing the stereo to switch as it does. If this is the case it can be easily repaired.
