Here is the information: The unit came installed in the car. My Dad did not like where the remote was located, so he attempted to relocate it between the steering wheel and dashboard. After that, he said the CDs would play, but only for 15 seconds per track, then switching to the next track for 15 seconds, etc. He thinks he may have somehow damaged the scan button, since it seems stuck in that mode. It is an Audiovox, Prestige, Model No. P-195 10-disc CD changer. He has been told by others there is no fixing it but asked me to post on the web and see if anyone had any ideas. . .

I'm so glad I found this site! My Dad asked me to see if I could find someone in the Chicago area who could repair his Audiovox in-trunk CD player with remote. Any ideas?

P.S. I don't have year/model info, just that it includes a cassette. Also, I believe he installed it himself, but I'm not sure what the exact problem is, other than it's not working. If it will help, I will be able to get this information.

well there is no fixing it as far as my knowledge , i'm sure there is some skilled person out there that could fix that with no problem but very hard to track down someone that good and plus .. they CHARGE .. the best thing your dad can do is give audiovox a call tell them the problem and let them confirm the remote as the problem then they should be able to order a replacement that could cure the problem.. hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know
